"Approved by the future, for the future"

Following the success of That Sugar Film, Australian filmmaker Damon Gameau co-founded Regen Studios, a production company dedicated to telling stories that inspire and mobilize audiences around regenerative ecological and social solutions.

Next month, Australians will see their latest project on the big screen. The film, Future Council, follows eight schoolchildren traveling across Europe in a biofuel-powered school bus. Along the way, they visit ecological projects and explore innovative climate solutions. Rather than channeling their concerns into street protests, the narrative shifts toward direct dialogue with corporate leaders.

In scenes reminiscent of Michael Moore’s confrontations with Roger B. Smith, then CEO of General Motors, about the economic fallout of plant closures in Flint, Michigan, Future Council profiles young changemakers as they present environmental concerns directly to influential decision-makers.

The journey culminates in the formation of a child-led advisory council, created to give the next generation a formal voice in shaping business and government responses to ecological challenges.

The project is strengthened by the work of Hulsbosch, a North Sydney-based brand consultancy with deep experience supporting some of Australia’s most iconic brands. Working pro bono, the firm developed a complete brand ecosystem, including a flexible identity system, custom typography, a dynamic color palette, and comprehensive brand guidelines.
