Many of the old messages in classic protest signs remain strikingly relevant today.

UN Women Sweden reminds us that the fight for gender equality is unfinished business. In a new “Signs of the Times” advertising campaign, they are repurposing protest signs to underscore the fact that the slogans women marched behind a hundred years ago still hit uncomfortably close to home. The campaign highlights their recent report that shows one in four countries backsliding on women’s rights, from abortion access to equal pay and freedom from violence.
