'Today, we honor President Carter’s lifetime of service and his commitment to leaving the world better than he found it.'

On December 30, Apple updated its homepage to honor former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, who passed away on December 29, 2024, at the age of 100. This tribute reflects a rare practice for Apple.

Under Tim Cook’s leadership, Martin Luther King Jr. has been honored annually on the homepage. Additionally, in March 2022, Apple displayed a banner encouraging donations to support families affected by the war in Ukraine. More typically homepage takeovers are saved for new product or system announcements.
